BrainMop keeps your notes somewhere an AI assistant can read and write them, using MCP (the Model Context Protocol, an open standard). Any assistant that supports MCP custom connectors can use the same address below – you sign in with an emailed link and approve, the same way you'd connect any other app, with nothing to copy into a script. Claude and ChatGPT both support this today; if your assistant does too, look for "connectors" or "custom MCP server" in its settings and use the address below. If it doesn't, there is a token-based route further down.

Needs Developer mode turned on, which is available on Plus, Pro, Business, Enterprise, and Edu accounts. Personal Plus and Pro accounts can get full read-and-write access there too, not just workspace plans – tested and working on a personal Pro account, though OpenAI's own rollout has been inconsistent about this by account, so it may not be on for everyone yet. This is a fast-moving area, so check ChatGPT's own Settings → Apps & Connectors for what your account currently allows, and if writes don't work for you there, that's an OpenAI rollout gap, not a BrainMop limitation.

Once connected, your assistant gains a set of tools that match a real notes app: search and list notes, read them, create text notes and checklists, append or replace text, tick items off, reorder them, add and rename labels, and archive, trash or restore. Everything it does in one session is grouped, so a whole session's changes can be undone in a single step. You can disconnect at any time from that assistant's own connector settings, which stops its access straight away.
Open the web app, sign in, and create a personal API token. Give it a name, choose whether it may read only or read and write, and copy it – the token is shown once and starts with bmp_. Keep it somewhere safe, as you would a password. You can revoke a token at any time from the same screen, which cuts off anything using it immediately.
BrainMop also ships an MCP server you can run yourself – a small program your MCP client launches for you. Configure the client to launch it with two settings:

Whatever an assistant writes is an ordinary note: you can open it, correct it, re-file it or delete it in the app like any other. Because each batch of assistant edits is grouped, a session that went wrong is reverted in one step rather than note by note. Disconnecting an assistant from its own connector settings, or revoking a token from the web app, ends that access straight away.
Keeping notes, syncing them across your devices, and 30 days of version history are free. Connecting an assistant and keeping full version history are part of the optional paid plan: GBP 24 a year, or GBP 4.50 a month, as an auto-renewing PayPal subscription you can cancel at any time. Every account gets the first 30 days of AI access free with no card required, starting the first time you connect. If the plan lapses (or the trial ends), every note stays fully usable on the free plan – only assistant access and history beyond 30 days pause.
